Potentia has moved their Auckland head office into a brand newly renovated presence on Shortland Street. At 3-13 Shortland Street in the Old South British Building, Potentia needed to expand their footprint to accommodate their recent growth and new staff. Accompanying this move, a leadership change has also occurred; the founder Josh Comrie has stepped aside from his day to day role and promoted Nathan Taukiri to take on the General Manager position - across both Auckland and Wellington.
"The move has come at a great time for us" says Comrie. "We're approaching our 6th birthday, and with a tough year behind us we wanted to kick start the new decade in a space which will allow us to move the business forward to the next level. A key part of this was promoting Nathan from his Principal Consultant position to that of GM. Nathan has been with us for almost five years and has been a pivotal part of the success of this business, it really represents a natural progression for us both. Our new office has two separate open plan spaces so I've shifted myself down to the other end to allow Nathan and the team to get on with it whilst I focus on building a new brand - a generalist Sales and Marketing Recruitment Consultancy."
Potentia has enjoyed some great accolades in the last few years; being a top 20 feature in the Deloitte Fast50 in 2007 and 2008, and the winner of the "New Zealand's Favourite IT Recruiter" title in 2008 and 2009. "We're hopeful our run of good luck will continue as we continue to evolve and enhance the business offering" Says Taukiri. "This year we're pioneering the introduction of an exit interview - which we'll deliver - offering our clients the opportunity to have an external consultant conduct an interview with the departing employee. This will provide the manager with a greater insight into building a high performing culture and team and deliver us with a deeper insight into the role replacement, ensuring a more enduring introduction."

When I first arrived at my new role I had been out of the corporate market for over 3 months and I was struggling to get my rhythm. After the first couple of weeks I had my first session with Peter who, thankfully, managed to help me open my eyes to how to be the best person to do the job I had been recruited for.
