I was originally sceptical of how three of these coaching sessions would help, especially when they only lasted between 1 and 2 hours. I provided a brief of the shortcomings we had with the individual and where we needed to see improvement.  After each session I met with the individual and received some feedback from Potentia.

While the approach was not specific to work issues I certainly saw an immediate change to the individuals approach. He was more thoughtful and assertive in his daily tasks - something we had been certainly looking for. He has continued to grow as an individual which was kicked started by the coaching.

At the end of the course of sessions both Tegel and the individual felt they have gained something from the coaching that will help them not only at work but in their personal life as well. I was very pleased we choose to use Potentia’s coaching services and would certainly recommend them for the future.

Gayle really listened to what was happening in my workplace and picked up on my weakness, she made a lot of valuable suggestions. The first session was the most interesting for me. I guess prior to the session, I wasn't sure what to expect nor did I know what I'd get out of it.  I was rather skeptical over the value of the whole thing. However, once I got over the intial awkwardness of talking about myself, I let loose and got into it. In the end, I believe I got more out of these sessions than I thought I would. Overall impressions were great and Gayle was lovely to talk to.

It's hard to say whats changed, rather knowing my direction in life that I have chosen for myself is indeed the right choice for my stage and circumstance in life. Hearing myself explain and answer her questions about how I got to be where I am now, why I'm doing what I'm doing etc was a confirmation of this. This was the most reassuring point I got out of these sessions.

One point that I had discussed with Gayle was my background in always working for large corporations with alot of internal prcoesses, structure, line managers, quarterly performance reviews and targets etc then coming to a small company where structure was pretty much flat and a 180degrees opposite to what I was accustomed to. So I was kinda at a lost as to how I was performing at work, what did management think, what their expectations are. Gayle had suggested I just talk to my manager about this so I did as suggested and consequence of that was weekly catch up sessions with my manager to discuss whats on my plate, any questions I  had, and in return, I occassionally get feedback on my work which was good.
