Role snapshot:
You will bring a strong background in your technical field combined with experience in supporting the application of data engineering models in a commercial context. On the day to day you will be involved in a wide variety of project initiatives as the organisation moves further away from multiple on premise systems to cloud technologies.Your work will help build and setup these new environments for reporting, insights and data science work.
Working in conjunction with an existing engineering and analytics team you will never be short of an opportunity to collaborate and bounce ideas off others.You will focus on improving data engineering standards and practices throughout and enhancing current environments. To achieve these outcomes you'll work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders and both internal teams and external third parties.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Data engineering skillset (3-5 years) with proven technical ability
Commercial business-facing project experience
Experience in applying data engineering methods to business problems
Strong presentation and communication skills, explaining complex analytical concepts to people from non-technical fields.
Strong technical capability in cloud technologies including AWS and Databricks
Strong experience with Python and SQL
Exposure to SAS, SAP, Microsoft technologies beneficial
