Deputy Programme Director - Software Delivery

· 12-month hourly rate contract
· Lead multi-disciplinary in-house development squads
· Key leadership role on large scale programme

The Organisation

This large government agency plays a key role in outcomes for all New Zealanders across the country and plays a critical role in funding and policy.
The role You will be joining a large scale and in-flight programme, working in partnership with the Programme Director with the key responsibility of managing the software delivery for the programme. This programme is focused on replacing a large and complex legacy funding system that is responsible for approximately $8.4 billion of funding each year.

Your role

· Oversight and responsibility for software delivery of managers across Legacy Software Transition, Rules / Data, Deployment / Release and System Build
· Helping to continue to enhance the current agile, scrum and continuous improvement approach to delivery
· Oversight of programme change management activities in line with the programme plan
· Oversee and manage multiple projects considering the long-term objectives, organisational strategy and change management requirements
· Step into the programme director role in their absence

Key skills you'll bring

· Proven success leading multi-disciplinary agile squads with a knowledge of Scrum
· Good knowledge and experience of government and the public sector
· Strong experience delivering large scale and diverse programmes / projects with multiple stakeholders on time and budget utilising both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
· Your natural team building and diplomacy skills that enable you get a newly formed team all moving in the same direction
