The Opportunity:


This is the right opportunity for a young IT Support professional who has completed studies, gained some work experience and is now eager to join an organisation that makes an impact. 

You will be working within the Service Desk team who are responsible for supporting critical in-house systems, desktop and device management and ensuring the overall business continuity of their systems and data. This team is also responsible for managing the integration of technology systems that are outsourced to third parties. You'll work closely with every business unit to deliver the applications and data that they need. 



Your responsibilities: 


● Respond to and resolve incoming service requests in line with SLAs through the service desk, phone, or email;

● Assist with the support and maintenance of desktop infrastructure, including Windows, virtual desktops and mobile devices;

● Support internal applications such as Microsoft Office and OpenText eDocs;

● Document processes and procedures for the ongoing management of the service desk; 

● Actively monitor the service desk queues and escalate problems to the appropriate person or IT team as required;


What you need to be successful: 


● Knowledge of Active Directory Users and Computers

● Knowledge of basic networking protocols i.e. DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN required

● Understanding of Group Policy

● Excellent communication skills

● Ability to work in a team and influence people positively

● Being a self-driven person, proactive and resourceful

● Ideally a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science
