The opportunity:

Do you look at a system and think where are the vulnerabilities here? This is 'hacker' mindset we are looking for, what you do once you figure out how to break a system is something we can discuss in person. You will look to lead a highly capable SRE team as they lay the foundations for a world-leading decentralised company. We are seeking a leader familiar with the DevOps philosophy, strong security skills and necessary technical background to better deploy and support applications with a limited human touch. Coming from a development background, you should be able to build and deploy software, analyze logs and telemetry data for issues adhere to software development standard methodologies in writing automation code. You'll be able to leverage your skills to advise external entities looking to enter the decentralised ecosystem and how they can best benefit for this new approach to architecture. You will get to play a pivotal role in the direction of the underlying infrastructure that these applications will be created on.

Role snapshot:

Working directly with the CTO, CISO, you will lead 2 other Senior SREs to deliver a highly scalable, secure platform to build DApps on top of. You will ask as both an internal and external consultant, helping to upskill teams to support their own environments and adhere to best practices so you can focus on adding to a robust platform. When you are focusing externally it will be working with new prospective clients that are looking to join the ecosystem. The role requires a mix of strategic engineering and design along with hands-on, technical work. You will be well versed in today's relevant technologies toward delivering highly available, scalable solutions in a zero-downtime model. You will configure, tune, and solve problems in multi-tiered systems to achieve optimal application performance, stability and availability. You will establish infrastructure using automation and provide hands-on support for the development of Infrastructure-As-Code. 


The skillset:
  • 5+ years experience in designing, analyzing and solving problems large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience with Docker containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes
  • Experience configuring and running CI platforms such as Jenkins, Circle, Travis
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Experience with monitoring systems 
  • Knowledge of Bash and at least one programming language of Go, Ruby, Rust, C++, Python, Javascript
  • Strong understanding of cloud concepts
  • Experience with Linux/Unix System Administration and automation
  • Good analytical skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A thorough understanding of potential system failures and faults
  • Experience working within Agile and DevOps frameworks
  • Solid communication skills
  • Ablility to have frank conversations, and build effective, trusting, honest relationships
  • Understanding of testing paradigms and methodology
  • Understanding of cryptography is a plus
