PHP Developer - Contract 3 months

The role:

Our client based in Auckland CBD has an urgent, short-term need for a highly professional and capable PHP developer. This is an onsite posting, not suitable for remote work.
One of their key strategic projects is nearly at the finish line, and they are looking to fill a resource gap to bring it home in a timely manner. They expect it will take around three months. It's a gig where you can get stuck in and tackle some tricky details.

You will:

You'd be getting your hands dirty in a legacy codebase with complex third-party integrations and gaps in documentation and test coverage. The main app is a PHP / Yii monolith that talks to a variety of third-party APIs, plus internal services written in Go, Kotlin, and Python. You might have to dip into those services, too.
They're mostly documented with Swagger/OpenAPI. They also use common tools like Git, AWS, and Scrum and would expect you to be productive with them.

There's no frontend work involved, that's taken care of. It's just hardcore backend / integrations work.

I'm hoping to hear from applicants who often enjoy the engineering of integrations: tackling ambiguity, interrogating and clarifying requirements, tracking down the relevant people and extracting definitions from them, reading third party API docs.
