This is an exciting opportunity for a Support Engineer to join a growing organisation in the baking industry. Currently they develop, manufacture and distribute innovative ingredients and solutions for bakers and patissiers across all five continents.
In this role you have an opportunity to grow within a small IT Team that looks after each other. Reporting to the IT Manager, the expectation is for this role to monitor the help desk system and provide onsite support to onsite users as well as remote support to users in other regions.

The fit:

  • Respond to help desk tickets in a timely manner.
  • Provide L1 and L2 support to users in Tauranga as well as users in other regions via remote tools.
  • Perform hands-on fixes, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, managing mobile devices and configuring applications along with testing and customer follow up to confirm problems are resolved.
  • Participate in improvements as they relate to the on-site IT environment including scheduled out-of-hours work from time to time to support major projects and/or special activities such as systems maintenance.
  • Setup and configure laptops mostly Microsoft and Windows based
  • Manage AD and Office 365
  • Escalate queries to supporting Senior IT Engineer as required
  • Assist with projects and technology upgrades
  • Assist with ERP user support, maintain system user requests, user permissions, mobile device menus and security roles

Technical Capabilities
You will be a motivated ‘hands-on’ person who is resourceful and is autonomous in your problem-solving approach. Industry experience in an IT role and proven experience in a support team.

  • Able to work to deadlines and make sound decisions while working under pressure.
  • A creative problem solver, strong attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Good initiative and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and keep up to date with changing technology
  • A full drivers license - this role requires occasional travel to other regions.

  • Experience in an IT Technician, IT Support Engineer, or similar role with a passion for helping users.
  • Proven experience across Office 365, Windows 10, Active Directory
  • Experience with Citrix and/or Dynamics 365 FinOps is an advantage.
  • A degree or diploma in IT (or similar).
