Quick-fire questions with Sarah
Potentia
What's a technology that gives you the most joy to use?
Sarah
I am going to give a simple answer here...WhatsApp / Facetime. It connects me with my family and friends in Germany and makes me feel a little bit closer to them. I remember a time when I had to schedule in a Sunday evening Skype video call when I first moved to NZ in 2009, or actually send them a fax when I was an exchange student for a year in 2002. So, that technology has obviously come a long way and connects people around the world.

If you could share a meal with anyone in history. Who would it be and why?
Sarah
I’d probably choose Robin Williams – it would be a pretty unforgettable meal with a good blend of laughter and meaningful conversations. Would love to chat about his work / movies but also get an insight about his struggles with depression.

What's an industry you would love to learn more about?
Sarah
Obviously the tech industry. Guess that's one reason why I am doing what I am doing here at Potentia - I am amazed about how much I am learning on a daily basis. Another one of my interests is psychology and the science of human behavior, which I find very fascinating.

It’s a sunny day, you have no plans for the next 12 hours... Where do you go and what do you do?
Sarah
You'll definitely find me at the beach with my family and our dog Bruce - swimming, reading, sleeping or throwing a ball around.

What do you think is the most important skill for interviewing?
Sarah
Listening to understand (not to respond) and empathy - guess that applies for life in general too.
