Solution Architect – Data, Cloud & Marketing Initiatives (6-month- 12 month contract)

Deliverables/Purpose

This role spans three distinct workstreams, each requiring expert architecture guidance:

1. Data-Driven Marketing Architecture (Greenfield):
Lead the architectural design for automated, AI/ML-enabled marketing solutions, transitioning from manual campaign execution to data-driven decisioning. You'll help shape the architecture alongside another specialist and provide oversight to the engineering team as they build out analytics capabilities.

2. Risk & Compliance Data Architecture:
Design and guide data architecture that meets evolving regulatory requirements, with some components leveraging Google Cloud Platform. You'll ensure NZ-specific compliance requirements are met while maintaining alignment with related work being delivered in other locations. 

3. Cloud Data Platform Migration Oversight:
Provide light-touch architecture assurance and guidance for a data platform migration nearing completion—moving from a legacy on-prem system to a modern cloud-based SaaS environment on AWS. You'll support the engineering team with best-practice alignment during the critical go-live phase.

Contract details

• 6-month contract with potential to extend to 12 months
• Wellington-based with hybrid work arrangements

The skills and experience we need you to bring

• Proven track record as a Solution Architect with expertise across data, cloud platforms, and applications
• Experience designing and implementing architecture for data-driven marketing, analytics, or AI/ML solutions
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and data platform architecture
• Background in financial services, risk management, or regulatory compliance would be advantageous
• Ability to work effectively across multiple concurrent initiatives while providing clear architectural guidance
• Strong communication skills to translate complex concepts to various stakeholders
• Permanent working rights in New Zealand
