This role is based in Wellington’s southern suburbs. While hybrid flexibility is offered, the preference is for someone who can work on-site three days a week. Applicants must hold permanent working rights in New Zealand to be considered.

The Role

• Implement and maintain C++ and/or Rust components following established architectural patterns
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in existing codebases
• Assist with integrating machine learning models into applications with senior guidance
• Contribute to visual computing components across multiple platforms
• Provide input on technical designs and participate actively in code reviews
• Collaborate with lead/senior developers on efficient computation pipelines
• Write comprehensive documentation and maintain unit tests for developed components

Your Fit

• Solid professional C++ experience (C++14/17) with clean, functional coding abilities
• Basic Rust knowledge or genuine enthusiasm to learn and upskill in Rust fundamentals
• Understanding of multithreaded programming and memory management principles
• Experience with ML concepts and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch C++ APIs)
• Familiarity with visual computing libraries (OpenCV, basic graphics APIs)
• Knowledge of build systems (CMake, Cargo) and CI/CD concepts
• Good debugging skills and collaborative problem-solving approach
• Ability to develop across at least two platforms
