Deliverables/Purpose

You'll drive the development of innovative serverless API solutions, leading backend development initiatives that enhance payment platforms and integration systems. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll ensure high-quality software delivery aligned with business requirements whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence across diverse technology initiatives.

The skills and experience we need you to bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience in backend development.
• Proven experience working with cloud services (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with database systems, both relational and non-relational.
• Testing Proficiency: Exposure to testing techniques and tools, including unit testing, integration testing, UI testing, and end-to-end (E2E) testing.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for Technology: Passionate about technology and its application to deliver value to customers.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Vue, React, Angular).
• Experience with JavaScript runtimes (e.g., Node.js, Next.js, Express.js).
• Experience with Kotlin, iOS, Flutter, or knowledge of coding for these platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to write type-safe code in TypeScript.
• Experience in the card payments industry with knowledge of card payments.
• Knowledge of EMV (Europay, MasterCard®, and Visa®) concepts.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with serverless frameworks other than AWS SAM (e.g., Serverless Framework, Azure Functions).
• Proficiency in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., PagerDuty) and logging solutions (e.g., Datadog).
• Understanding of DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and automated provisioning.
• Exposure to designing, implementing, and maintaining microservices architectures.
• Awareness of security best practices in software development.
• Experience with strategies for scaling and optimizing databases in cloud environments.
