About the role

Data Migration Lead (Geospatial) – 12-month contract

Why you would like it

  • Own the migration approach end-to-end on a sizeable replatforming programme
  • Strong GIS/geospatial component (ESRI experience will go a long way)
  • Plenty of stakeholder engagement and practical delivery — not just documentation
Deliverables/Purpose

This contract sits within a broader technology transformation, with a focus on establishing shared geospatial data foundations and moving to a modern, component-based architecture.
You’ll lead the data migration workstream for geospatial replatforming: shaping the migration strategy, guiding technical delivery, and making sure the migration lands cleanly (quality, reconciliation, security, performance, and cutover).

Key deliverables will typically include:
  • Migration strategy and execution plan (scope, approach, tooling, sequencing, cutover)
  • Data mapping, profiling, cleansing and reconciliation approach (and making it stick)
  • Oversight of ETL / integration build and migration testing (including defect triage)
  • Clear reporting on progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions required
  • Strong collaboration across delivery, data, architecture, and GIS-aligned teams
Contract details
  • 12-month contract
  • Full-time (details to confirm)
  • Working in an Agile/SAFe delivery environment
  • Reporting into a Delivery Lead (geospatial replatforming)
The skills and experience we need you to bring
  • Proven experience leading complex data migrations (strategy through to cutover/hypercare)
  • 7–10 years’ experience across data migration / information analysis, including prior hands-on migration delivery
  • Strong SQL and practical ETL/data integration capability
  • Experience designing or delivering enterprise-scale geospatial data initiatives
  • GIS experience (ESRI tooling ideal: ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online/AGOL, related ecosystem tools)
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (cloud data warehouse/lake concepts), governance and data quality controls
  • Confident stakeholder management — able to translate messy requirements into a workable plan and keep people aligned
Contractor Benefits
  • Wellbeing Discovery Sessions
  • Welcome Packs
  • Hnry discount
  • Exclusive Invites
  • Optional Pay-As-You-Go PI/PL Insurance

If this sounds like you, send through your CV and a short note on the biggest migration you’ve led (size, tooling, and what “done” looked like).
