About the role:
This contract supports key data ingestion and loading capabilities while helping deliver a broader platform modernisation strategy. You’ll take ownership of test coverage across backend/data flows, strengthen and evolve the automation suite, and work closely with engineers and stakeholders to keep delivery moving when priorities shift. Expect a mix of planned work and urgent investigation/triage in complex environments where quality and attention to detail are non-negotiable.

The skills and experience we need you to bring

• Proven manual testing experience, specifically backend testing, with a minimum of 4 years of experience
• Proven test automation experience- building, maintaining and growing an automation suite
• Proven Microsoft SQL Server experience in SSMS, SSIS and data warehousing / OLTP databases
• Experience with T-SQL and stored procedures
• Experience with Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code, GitHub
• Proven experience with CI/CD- e.g., GitHub Actions, Octopus and CodePipeline
• Exposure to AWS, PowerShell, C#, Postman
• Proven experience with Jira and Confluence
• Proven Data ETL/ELT transformation experience with SSIS
• Confident working in a collaborative Agile/Scrum team
• Clear communication style, able to make complex concepts accessible to product/business stakeholders
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex environments, with high attention to detail
• Self-motivated and outcome-oriented, able to progress multiple priorities at once
• Experience using Gen AI tools is highly advantageous
