About the role

Senior Information Security Analyst – Forensic & Risk
Auckland CBD | Hybrid

Why you would like it
* Mix of eDiscovery, forensics, and risk work
* Hands-on investigations with real organisational impact
* Work closely with stakeholders on sensitive matters
* Strong Microsoft security stack exposure (M365/Entra/Purview)
* Auckland CBD location with hybrid flexibility

The opportunity
This is a senior role in an established Information Security function supporting services. You’ll sit at the intersection of evidence, investigation, and risk—running eDiscovery requests, supporting privacy and official information enquiries, and leading forensic investigations when things go wrong. Alongside the investigative work, you’ll contribute to information security risk management and continuous improvement across the security practice. If you enjoy careful, methodical work where process, integrity, and judgement matter as much as technical skill, this one is for you.

Company profile
A large, values-led organisation with a meaningful public impact, supporting a broad range of internal services and stakeholders. You’ll be part of a central Group Shared Services environment where security is taken seriously and the work is varied.

The role
* Deliver eDiscovery requests end-to-end, including defensible collection and export
* Support responses to privacy-related enquiries
* Lead forensic investigations across endpoints and cloud services
* Analyse and interpret evidence while maintaining evidential integrity and chain of custody
* Engage internal stakeholders on complex and sensitive matters
* Contribute to information security risk assessment and treatment activities
* Improve processes, tooling, and playbooks across the security practice

Your fit
* 5+ years’ experience in eDiscovery and/or digital forensics
* Strong knowledge of Windows environments and Microsoft 365 (incl. Entra)
* Hands-on with tools such as Forensic Toolkit (FTK), Splunk, Microsoft Purview, Arctera, and/or X1
* Scripting capability (PowerShell and/or Python) to automate and interrogate data
* Sound understanding of security risk management concepts and practice
* Confident communicator with discretion and good judgement in data-sensitive situations
* Relevant qualification or equivalent practical experience
