About the role

About the role
This is a DevOps Engineer role within a fast-growing cloud platform team in Christchurch.

You’ll join a collaborative, delivery-focused team working on modern cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment pipelines. This role suits someone who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with opportunities to influence architecture, improve operational practices, and work closely with development teams and external partners.

For this role you must be based in Christchurch, with an office-first approach (Monday–Friday) and a supportive, team-oriented environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain infrastructure-as-code platforms (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
  • Automate deployment, configuration, and operational pipelines
  • Contribute to the infrastructure roadmap, leveraging cloud platforms, containerisation, and service-oriented architectures
  • Ensure high system reliability, observability, and security for production environments
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to improve functionality, performance, and deployment practices
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting frameworks
What we’re looking for
  • Experienced in cloud platforms (AWS is strongly preferred) with infrastructure-as-code and containerisation (Docker)
  • Comfortable with Linux administration, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
  • Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset and curiosity to learn
  • Bonus points for RDBMS experience (PostgreSQL, etc.) or exposure to Java/.NET
Why join
  • Work on cloud infrastructure and DevOps products that directly support business-critical applications
  • Opportunity to shape platform architecture, improve automation, and influence technical direction
  • Collaborative, motivated, and fun team culture
  • Office-based in Christchurch CBD with a supportive, values-driven environment
  • Competitive salary and employee benefits
  • Ongoing learning and professional growth opportunities
About the culture
This is a values-led, inclusive environment where people are encouraged to be themselves, work collaboratively, and continually improve how things are done. The culture emphasises trust, learning, and delivering high-quality outcomes that matter.
