About the role

GROUP APPLICATIONS AND INTEGRATION MANAGER

PGG Wrightson (PGW) is a leading provider of products and services to New Zealand’s agricultural and horticultural sectors, helping to grow the country through its knowledge, service and expertise.
PGW has recently refreshed its Technology Strategy and Investment Roadmap, building on the progress already made in modernising its technology foundations. The business is now investing in multiple new roles to support the next phase of its technology transformation. These roles will strengthen how PGW delivers for its people and customers, and ensure technology remains tightly aligned to the overall business strategy.
Senior technology leaders will be instrumental in shaping the future of technology at PGW. This is an opportunity to help set strategic direction, mature the operating model, lift critical capability, and drive sustainable, enterprise-wide digital engagement. PGW is looking for leaders who are passionate about change, can embed effective ways of working, foster a strong culture, and ensure the Group Technology function operates as a connected, high performing team.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Group Applications and Integration Manager to lead PGW’s application and integration landscape and play a central role in delivering scalable, secure and value‑driven technology outcomes for the business.
Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, you will own the strategy, delivery and ongoing management of PGW’s enterprise application portfolio and integration architecture. You’ll partner closely with senior business and technology leaders to ensure application investments align with business priorities, enterprise standards and long‑term digital goals.
This senior leadership role carries end‑to‑end accountability for application lifecycle management, systems integration, vendor performance, and the development of a specialist applications and integration team.

Key responsibilities

  • Set and lead PGW’s enterprise applications and systems integration strategy
  • Ensure applications and integrations are aligned with business strategy and architecture standards
  • Own application lifecycle management, optimisation and reduction of technical debt
  • Provide trusted advice to senior leaders on application and integration priorities and trade‑offs
  • Establish robust governance, risk and compliance practices for application delivery
  • Manage vendor and partner performance to maximise value, reliability and service quality
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing applications and integration team
  • Drive continuous improvement, stability and innovation across the application landscape
About you
You are an experienced technology leader with deep expertise in enterprise applications and systems integration. You combine strategic thinking with a practical, delivery-focused approach and strong stakeholder engagement skills. You bring:
  • Significant experience leading large application portfolios and complex integration environments
  • Proven leadership in large‑scale ERP environments, with strong, hands‑on Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience at the core of your background
  • Strong familiarity with the broader Microsoft technology stack, using it to modernise and simplify complex application landscapes
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, governance and technology road‑mapping, ideally from technical background
  • The ability to influence at executive level and collaborate effectively across the business
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading capable, engaged technical teams, providing clear direction and guidance to specialists
  • A pragmatic, value‑driven approach to digital enablement and transformation
Experience in large, distributed or operationally complex environments (for example, agriculture, retail or logistics) will be highly regarded.
