Chief Operating Officer
About the role
The Opportunity
This company has built a fast-growing global technology platform serving the live events industry. With international growth accelerating and teams now operating across multiple markets, the founders are looking for a Chief Operating Officer to build the operational architecture that allows the business to scale.
As COO, you will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to establish the people systems, governance frameworks and operational foundations required to support the company’s next phase of global growth.
To date, much of the operational complexity has been absorbed by the founders. This role exists to introduce the systems, processes and leadership cadence that enable the organisation to scale internationally while maintaining the speed and culture of a high-growth technology company.
The Company
This New Zealand-founded technology company has built a modern platform serving the global live events industry.
The platform brings together ticketing, payments, marketing, customer data and on-the-ground event delivery into a single integrated ecosystem. Event organisers are able to manage the full lifecycle of events while maintaining control of the customer relationship and economics.
The business has evolved from a local ticketing provider into a genuinely global event commerce platform, operating across Australasia, North America and Europe. More than 8,600 events have already been delivered through the platform, with customers spanning sports organisations, festivals and major venues.
Revenue growth has been strong, the product roadmap is clear, and the team continues to expand. The next phase of the journey requires operational maturity to match the company’s international growth.
The Role
The Chief Operating Officer becomes the operational partner to the CEO and the integrator across the leadership team.
The founders have built a strong platform and growing international business. As the company expands across multiple markets, the organisation now requires the operational structure to support that scale.
Your role is to design and implement the operating framework that enables the company to grow with clarity and discipline. You will establish the people systems, governance structures and internal operating rhythm that align teams across markets.
This includes building the infrastructure required to support a distributed international team, introducing governance and compliance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions, and ensuring operational processes evolve alongside the company’s growth.
You will also work closely with the executive team to remove operational bottlenecks, strengthen internal systems and implement scalable processes that support efficient global operations. In the near term, the role will also oversee elements of revenue operations until a dedicated commercial leadership function is fully established.
At its core, this role exists to build the operational foundation that allows the business to scale into its next stage of global growth.
The Fit
The ideal person for this role is an experienced operational leader who has helped scale a technology business before.
You may currently be operating as a COO, VP Operations, Head of Operations or Chief of Staff within a high-growth SaaS or platform company. You understand the realities of founder-led organisations and enjoy bringing structure and clarity to fast-moving environments.
You are comfortable building operational infrastructure from the ground up, including people systems, governance frameworks and internal processes that enable teams to move faster as the company grows.
You bring a pragmatic mindset and a builder mentality. Rather than introducing process for its own sake, you design systems that enable execution and support commercial growth.
Experience operating across international markets and navigating multi-jurisdiction operational complexity will be valuable. Equally important is the ability to build trust quickly with founders and executive peers while operating as a genuine partner to the CEO.
If the opportunity to shape the operational foundation of a globally expanding technology platform resonates, this role offers the scope to make a lasting impact.
Please note that only candidates currently based in New Zealand with valid work rights will be considered.
