The Opportunity:
They are a growing, listed tech vendor seeking a Cloud Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and systems that supports cloud-based applications and services on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. You will collaborate closely with software development teams and operations teams to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of applications.

Their initiatives are wide-ranging, including product development, integration, system/platform/network enhancement, and cyber and vendor engagement and control. With revenue quintupled in the last 24 months, their technology is rapidly being adopted throughout Australasia, with global aspirations on the horizon.

Your role will involve:
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions
  • Ensuring the reliability and performance of cloud-based applications
  • Implementing best practices for security and compliance
  • Automating processes to enhance efficiency

What you will bring:
  • Proven experience in a Cloud DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on AWS services and technologies
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and principles, particularly with AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, ECS, RDS, and IAM.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like ansible, puppet or chef.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Bitbucket pipelines or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of networking principles and experience with network configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience in configuring observability tools like Splunk, Datadog, New Relic or Dynatrace.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
