The role
As the Lead Security Engineer, you will have a critical role in ensuring that the organisation is taking a best practice approach to the way they do security. You will provide, review and improve their infrastructure, virtual servers, security solutions and ensure that they are aligned to the wider Te Pūkenga cyber security strategy. Part of your role will also include collaboration with the wider digital team and external partners. There will also be mentoring provided
Key responsibilities
- Implement NIST Cyber Security, MITRE ATT&CK and CIS frameworks
- Promote benefits of digital security architecture to the wider business
- Help with high level technical design of infrastructure solutions
- Evaluate and monitor existing systems and upgrade them as needed
- Implement new security solutions
- Prepare system security reports/technical documentation
- At least eight years of experience across IT, with five or more focused on security
- Strong knowledge across a range of security tools and frameworks
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders
- Broad understanding of the IT domain and how systems interact with one another
- Ideally some formal qualifications such a Computer Science degree or Security certifications
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation
- Ability to further build your security leadership skills
