The Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Principal HR Systems Analyst on a fixed term basis to provide leadership, oversight, and advice on all HR technical systems and related processes. This role involves ensuring the effective implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of HR systems, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • HR Systems Management: Ensure HR applications meet compliance standards, maintain security and access rights, and oversee data integrity.
  • System Implementation and Enhancement: Lead projects to implement, maintain, fix, or enhance HR system capabilities. Plan, analyse, resource, test, secure, communicate, train, and document processes.
  • Configuration Management: Implement necessary configuration changes in line with HR policy and agreements, ensuring thorough testing before deployment.
  • SQL and Reporting: Create and maintain SQL scripts and reports to support information sharing, data integrity, and process improvement.
  • Architecture Development: Continuously improve system architecture, integrations, and data flows. Maintain architecture documentation.
  • Vendor Management: Develop specification documents for vendors to customise and enhance HR applications.
  • Compliance Documentation: Develop and contribute to internal compliance documents to achieve Approval to Operate (ATO).

Leadership and Expertise:
  • Provide technical leadership for HR applications and offer solutions to meet business needs.
  • Lead and support HR application projects, system fixes, and enhancements.
  • Advise on future People & Capability work programs to align with organisational priorities.
  • Provide senior technical expertise to inform strategic decisions.

Your Fit:
  • Extensive experience with HRIS systems maintenance, upgrades, security, and data integrity.
  • Experience leading the development and implementation of HR systems.
  • Strong analytical and operational background with experience in developing vendor relationships.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including scripting and reporting services.
  • Understanding of payroll legislation, particularly the Holidays Act and systems compliance.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication, able to convey complex information clearly.
  • Experience in business continuity planning and testing.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
