Senior Solutions Engineer

The organisation

Our client is an International software company who delivers digital solutions to customers across the world, within a range of different industries. In New Zealand, they have partnered with a Government organisation to provide a structured and scalable product that assists with critical decision making when there is no room for error. The solution is an all-encompassing radio, mobile, vehicle, web and application-based product with all this data reporting back to command HQ in real time.

Your role

You will play a key role in defining, building and delivering operational solutions for a key customer. This will involve working with client teams, partners and the local team to roll out a mission critical system, integrate it with a multitude of other systems and oversee a suitable training and support framework.

Key Deliverables

  • Your tasks will naturally concern customer service, the designing of solutions and systems

  • Deliver technical support like installation, configuration and troubleshooting both at company sites, customer sites and during exercises.

  • You will be expected to cover everything from tactical tasks to specific tasks at the customer (support, test, instruction, workshops, etc.)

  • Keep up to date with products for the defence market and support alignment of customer expectations and product roadmaps

Key skills you will bring

  • Strong knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Platforms (Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, Storage Solutions (SAN, NAS, etc.), Database Management Systems, Exchange, Lync & XMPP Chat, etc.)

  • An understanding of communication bearers (Radios, SatCom, WAN, LAN, WIFI) and their specific challenges (Differences between TDMA and FDMA and how it is used, etc.)

  • In depth knowledge of Hardware (Infrastructure components such as servers, SAN, NAS, etc. as well as computing devices such as tablets, phones, laptops, detachables, etc)

  • Support development and architectural work in general (analysis, design), e.g. project specific deliveries or as part of products.

  • Intimate knowledge and design capability around all solution components including hardware, infrastructure, software, networking and integration
