Role snapshot:

The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for requirements capture, documentation and analysis. You will be the lynchpin between the New Zealand Defence Force and your global team. You will understand how to get the implementation process done when dealing with the New Zealand Defence Force. You will work through the full SDLC from scoping to the coordination of implementation and configuration with ongoing support and training. The mission is simple, engage with key stakeholders to under how best to integrate a wide range of hardware and software and deliver a completely integrated C4I battle management solution. 

Your fit:

Your background in a recognized defence force and knowledge of C4I systems will give you the immediate ability to execute on the programme. It's not absolutely essential, it would help. You will have wide experience, including aspects of the below:

  • Five Eyes nation miliary background preferrably

  • Experience in a Senior Systems Engineering capacity and/or Analyst role, ideally including time in an agile commercial environment

  • Worked through large-scale implementations of technology, software and/or integrated application systems 

  • Strong Relationship management capabilities 

  • IT Infrastructure and Platforms (Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, Storage Solutions (SAN, NAS, etc.), Database Management Systems, Exchange, Lync & XMPP Chat, etc.)

  • Communication bearers (Radios, SatCom, WAN, LAN, WIFI) and their specific challenges (Differences between TDMA and FDMA and how it is used, etc.)

  • Hardware (Infrastructure components such as servers, SAN, NAS, etc. as well as computing devices such as tablets, phones, laptops, detachables, etc.)

  • You hold a bachelor level or higher preferable in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
