Identity Engineer | 12-Month Contract | Auckland

We’re working with a large enterprise organisation currently undertaking a major identity and access transformation programme and are looking for two experienced Identity Engineers to join the team on long-term contracts.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on modernising workforce identity capabilities across a complex hybrid Microsoft environment undergoing cloud transition. You’ll work closely with Identity Architecture, Security, Cloud, and Application teams to implement modern IAM controls and identity governance capabilities across the organisation.

The environment is Microsoft-heavy, with Entra ID and Azure sitting at the centre of a large enterprise estate, alongside an in-flight SailPoint identity governance implementation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Implementing and supporting IAM solutions across hybrid and cloud environments
• Supporting identity governance and access management initiatives
• Working across Entra ID, Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft 365, and SailPoint environments
• Implementing RBAC, ABAC, privileged access, MFA, SSO, and federation controls
• Supporting cloud migration projects from an IAM perspective
• Building and supporting secure identity integration patterns across enterprise systems
• Supporting access governance, separation of duties, and least privilege initiatives
• Working closely with engineering, architecture, operations, and security teams

What we’re looking for:

• Strong IAM engineering experience within enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, Azure RBAC, Conditional Access, and Microsoft 365
• Experience supporting identity across hybrid cloud environments
• Strong understanding of federation, authentication, and identity protocols
• Experience implementing IAM controls and governance frameworks
• Exposure to SailPoint or other IGA platforms is highly desirable
• Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement capability
• Ability to operate within fast-paced transformation environments
