Customer Success & Deployment Coordinator
About the role
Why you would like it
• Dunedin-based, full-time role
• Great growth opportunity for someone looking for a career in sales or account managment
• Work with practical VR training programmes
• Mix of customers, product, sales and delivery
• Real ownership of deployments and adoption
• Travel to customer sites across operational industries
Company profile
GFactor is a growing virtual reality training business creating programmes for vehicle operations across sectors such as tourism, education, heavy transport, mining and agriculture.
The team is building technology that solves practical training problems, so the work is grounded in real-world customer needs rather than tech for tech’s sake. It’s a smaller company environment, which means you’ll need to be comfortable pitching in, adapting quickly, and taking ownership.
The opportunity
This is a hands-on customer success and deployment role for someone who likes being close to the action. You’ll take over once a sale is made, helping customers get set up, trained, confident, and actually using the product well.
It’s a good fit if you enjoy variety: one day you might be coordinating a rollout, the next running a demo, troubleshooting a headset issue, or feeding customer insights back into the product team.
You won’t need to be deeply technical, but you will need to be calm, organised, curious, and comfortable helping people who may be new to VR technology. It’s also a strong stepping-stone if you’re interested in moving into a more sales-focused role over time, as you’ll be running demos, supporting pitches, and spotting expansion opportunities.
The role
You’ll be responsible for:
• Planning and coordinating branch or site rollouts
• Managing demo headset logistics, including shipping, tracking and setup
• Delivering customer staff training remotely and on-site
• Running routine demos for prospective and existing customers
• Supporting important demos and pitches with senior leaders
• Checking in with customers to support satisfaction, adoption and usage
• Providing first-line support for VR headsets, connectivity and basic software issues
• Capturing customer feedback for the product team
• Spotting expansion opportunities within existing customer accounts
• Supporting events when required, including headset setup and customer engagement
Your fit
You’ll likely bring:
• Experience in customer success, account management, sales support, training, project coordination or similar
• Strong organisation and written communication skills
• Confidence presenting to groups, from frontline teams to managers
• Comfort working with technology and basic troubleshooting
• The ability to stay calm when something does not work first time
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
• A valid NZ Full Driver Licence
Exposure to transport, construction, SaaS, hardware deployment, VR/AR, startups or sales support would be useful, but not essential. An interest in developing sales skills and progressing toward a sales or account management path would be a plus.
