The opportunity:

From a military background, you understand the importance to have the right information in real-time to make the right decision. Tactical decision-making is at the heart to execute upon strategy, this will be achieved through an integrated, ultra-modern command and control toolset. The solution is all-encompassing; radio, mobile, vehicle, web and application-based. All of this reporting back to command HQ in real-time. To achieve this you will be New Zealand side recruit for this global defence specialist. Interface with the client's key stakeholders to coordinate the push and pull of information to the right individuals.  Your background in defence force and C4I systems give you the basis to execute this on the plan, though are not essential.

Role snapshot:

The Solutions Engineer will be responsible for requirements capture, documentation and analysis. You will work in a pair to be the lynchpin between the New Zealand Defence Force and your global team. You will understand how to get the process done when dealing with the New Zealand Defence Force. You will work through the full SDLC from scoping to the coordination of implementation and configuration with ongoing support and training. The mission is simple, engage with key stakeholders to under how best to integrate a wide range of hardware and software to deliver a completely integrated C4I battle management solution. 


We want you:

  • You have an active Secret or higher security clearance from a Five Eyes nation

  • 5+ years' experience in a Senior Systems Engineering capacity, ideally including time in an agile commercial environment

  • Worked through large-scale implementations of IT and applications systems 

  • Experience with Windows OS,Hyper-V

  • Strong Relationship management capabilities 

  • IT Infrastructure and Platforms (Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, Storage Solutions (SAN, NAS, etc.), Database Management Systems, Exchange, Lync & XMPP Chat, etc.)

  • Communication bearers (Radios, SatCom, WAN, LAN, WIFI) and their specific challenges (Differences between TDMA and FDMA and how it is used, etc.)

  • Hardware (Infrastructure components such as servers, SAN, NAS, etc. as well as computing devices such as tablets, phones, laptops, detachables, etc.)

  • You hold a bachelor level or higher preferable in Software engineering.

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
