Quick-fire questions with Emma
What's a technology that gives you the most joy to use?
Can I pick two? My Cloud 9 iron – as a former hairdresser, I really appreciate a good styling tool. Having good hair genuinely brings me joy. The second would be Spotify – having an endless library of music at my fingertips is something I’d struggle to go without.
If you could share a meal with anyone in history. Who would it be and why?
David Bowie – endlessly creative, an incredible musician, and always pushing boundaries with fashion and identity. I’d love to pick his brain about how he stayed so original and curious. I think he’d have a really interesting take on creativity and how to keep evolving.
What's an industry you would love to learn more about?
This is a tricky one—there’s always more to learn. I’m the kind of person who likes knowing a little about a lot, and my NYT mini crossword streak would back me up on that.
It’s a sunny day, you have no plans for the next 12 hours... Where do you go and what
do you do?
The real question is: Am I with my family?
If I am, it’s brunch at our favourite café, a stroll along the beach, a run around the playground, and definitely an ice cream stop before heading home to play Mario Party.
If I’m flying solo, it’s brunch with my best friend followed by a spontaneous road trip with no set destination.
What do you think is the most important skill for interviewing?
Self-awareness. Being able to talk honestly about your strengths, areas you're working on, and what you actually want out of your next role makes all the difference.
