About the role
This is a Senior Systems Engineer role within a client-focused IT services environment, based in Auckland or Wellington.

You’ll be working across a portfolio of clients, taking ownership of their infrastructure, acting as a senior escalation point, and delivering projects end-to-end. The role blends hands-on engineering with advisory responsibilities, including building IT roadmaps, presenting recommendations, and aligning environments to best-practice standards.

This is a field-based position with regular travel — covering the upper North Island (Auckland) or lower North Island (Wellington), using a company vehicle and occasional flights for out-of-region clients.

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver infrastructure projects from design through to implementation
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues
• Build and present IT roadmaps and recommendations to clients
• Align client environments to standardised, best-practice solutions
• Maintain accurate and thorough technical documentation
• Provide on-site and remote support across a range of client environments
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery and support continuity

What we’re looking for

• 2–5 years’ experience operating at a Senior Systems Engineer level
• Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects in an MSP environment (essential)
• Strong Microsoft stack experience (M365, Azure AD, Windows Server, Intune)
• Solid networking and virtualisation fundamentals
• Experience working across multiple client environments
• Strong problem-solving skills with a structured approach
• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
