About the role

Change Manager | ERP | Timaru | Fixed term to October 2027

We’re looking for an experienced Change Manager to join a major ERP transformation project with a well-established organisation in Timaru.

This is a key role within the project team, focused on making sure the people side of the ERP implementation is well planned, understood and successfully adopted across the business.

About the role
You’ll work closely with project teams, business leaders, process owners and subject matter experts to understand how the new ERP solution will impact people, processes and ways of working.

You’ll take ownership of the change activity across the project, from impact and readiness assessments through to communication, engagement, training coordination and adoption. A big part of the role will be working through leaders and SMEs, helping them understand the change and giving them the tools to support their teams.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and deliver the change strategy and implementation plan for the ERP project
  • Assess business impacts, readiness, risks and barriers to adoption
  • Work closely with leaders, SMEs and project stakeholders to prepare the business for change
  • Develop and deliver targeted communication and engagement activities
  • Support leaders to communicate changes and help their teams transition
  • Coordinate training and learning activities alongside the project’s training function
  • Monitor readiness, adoption and feedback throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify resistance and risks early, putting practical mitigation plans in place
  • Track and report on change activity, risks, issues and progress
  • Continuously review what’s working and adjust the approach where needed
What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience as a Change Manager on a significant technology or ERP implementation
  • Strong understanding of change management frameworks, methodologies and tools
  • Experience completing change impact and business readiness assessments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work across all levels of an organisation
  • Experience developing practical change, communication and engagement plans
  • A track record of supporting successful user adoption of new systems and processes
  • Change Management certification such as Prosci, APMG, ACMP or equivalent
  • Experience in utilities, infrastructure or another complex operational environment would be advantageous
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be highly beneficial
About the culture
You’ll be joining a collaborative and people-focused environment where how the team works together is considered just as important as what gets delivered. The organisation values open communication, trust and respect, with a strong focus on taking ownership, working as one team and bringing people along through change.

It’s an environment that encourages curiosity, different perspectives and practical problem-solving, with a genuine focus on creating a workplace where people feel supported, involved and able to contribute.
