About the role

Infrastructure Engineer
We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join an established technology team supporting a broad enterprise environment across on-premises, hybrid and cloud services.

This is a varied role covering BAU support, complex troubleshooting, infrastructure improvements and project work. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to get involved and make a difference to the reliability and performance of the environment.

This is a Christchurch-based role, with relocation to Christchurch required for candidates currently based elsewhere.

What you’ll do

• Support and maintain enterprise infrastructure
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and escalations
• Manage upgrades, patching and infrastructure lifecycle activities
• Support workplace, endpoint and cloud technologies
• Monitor performance, availability and capacity
• Contribute to infrastructure projects and technology changes
• Work with internal teams, vendors and managed service providers
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate

 
What we’re looking for

• Strong experience in Infrastructure or Systems Engineering
• Microsoft infrastructure experience across Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID and Microsoft 365
• Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware
• Experience with endpoint and device management, such as Intune or similar
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP and firewalls
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Comfortable working across both BAU and project activity
• Clear communication and a practical, collaborative approach

You don’t need to tick every technology box. We’re interested in your overall infrastructure capability, how you approach problems and your ability to learn.

Bonus if you have: cloud, PowerShell/automation, backup and disaster recovery, or managed service experience.
