Why you would like it:

  • Lead technology from apps to Cloud

Company Profile:

This business builds end to end utilities technology that measures and monitors energy networks for the big power generators and retailers located around New Zealand and Australia. With the recent acquisition of one of their competitors, they are now bringing together the two systems and redeploying the technology to the Cloud.

The Opportunity:

This role will expand from being a Senior Developer of one system to working across all of the components of their suite and daisy chain of technologies. As the business grows, as it continues to do, so will the role. You'll:

  • Act as a tech expert across the products

  • Become a technical subject matter expert for the commercial team and partners

  • Develop software at all levels for the range of products for energy monitoring and control.

The architecture involves firmware, cloud and apps. The cloud aspect is built in AWS and the shift underway to contemporary Cloud is something the business is excited about with the applications of data visualisation and availability of real-time software to remotely configure and report from for their customers.

Fit:

Think resourceful and multi-skilled with exposure to a range of technologies. Your diversity of skills is an advantage here. These skills include:

  • Full Stack experience with JavaScript (React or Angular) and Node.js

  • Some experience with AWS technology stack - ec2, kinesis, IAM, S3, awscli, load balancing including Elastic Search (key next step for the team) or a desire to venture into it

  • Scripting and automation tools (Ansible etc.), as well as an understanding of network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP), will certainly be helpful

  • Understanding of Microservices

These skills will help you become valuable more swiftly in this role and develop knowledge of how the systems all interlock.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person. If you're looking to join a top class organisation with great development opportunities, send me through your CV as soon as you can
Please note that to be considered for this role you will need to hold a valid NZ Work Visa or NZ Residency or NZ Citizenship.
