The organisation
Our client is an International software company who delivers digital solutions to customers across the world, within a range of different industries. In New Zealand, they have partnered with a Government organisation to provide a structured and scalable product that assists with critical decision making when there is no room for error. The solution is an all-encompassing radio, mobile, vehicle, web and application-based product with all this data reporting back to command HQ in real time. They also have other software products within the healthcare, education and intelligence sectors.
The role
This role will be replacing an expat who will be moving back to Denmark in September. The Solution Architect will be a senior member of the New Zealand team and will be responsible for consulting with the client (predominately NZDF) on architectural and technical decisions. It is important that a successful candidate has at least three months working with the expat, in order to effectively transfer knowledge and IP. You will get a great opportunity to work within the full SDLC and see your concepts come to life.
Key Deliverables
Design of new features or enhancements to the SitaWare suite for the NZDF client as well as working closely with the development teams in Denmark to build and deploy the solution(s).
Coordinate the product roadmaps and ensure the seamless fit with the customers' expectations
Get involved strategically but also in a hands-on capacity as fits the needs of the project(s)
Keep up to date with the status of company products for the defence market and support alignment of customer expectations and product roadmap.
What you'll bring
Primary experience within Software Development and Solution Architecture
Experience building Integration solutions and modern API's
Experienced and capable of providing consultation around Cloud computing best practice (ideally AWS, however Azure is also a bonus, including security standards and controls)
Have secondary knowledge across IT infrastructure and platforms (Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, Storage Solutions (SAN, NAS, etc.), Database Management Systems, Exchange, Lync & XMPP Chat, etc.)
Experience working in an agile way and comfort with using best practices
Eligibility for NATO Secret clearance (Citizen of NZ, Australia, UK, US or Canada)
Ideally have an IT degree at Bachelor or Master level
